The Duke's Shotgun Wedding (Entangled Scandalous)

The Duke's Shotgun Wedding (Entangled Scandalous) - Stacy Reid This story was a little far fetched but I guess that's why we read fiction. At least that's what I tried to tell myself as I read the book. The beginning is what I had a hard time with. A young lady, daughter of an Earl. Going to a Duke's estate and threatening him with a pistol and lying to him that his brother ruined her to force a marriage and the Duke knowing it's a lie decides he'll marry her himself since his brother already married. Within 24 hours he makes her his Duchess. All this because her father the Earl needs money for her sisters and his estate. So I guess in places in England in regency times all you had to do when you were poor Lords or Lady's is just hold rich ones at gun point claim a family member ruined you and order them to marry you.

The story isn't bad after you get over the disbelief of the start. I did enjoy the rest. Jocelyn and the Duke wind up having a pretty nice love story...
